What Cars Will We Drive on the Virtual Streets of GTA VI?
Our childhood favorites - Infernus, Turismo, Cheetah, Comet, and other iconic cars are not entirely fictional. When designing them, Rockstar Games drew inspiration from real-life vehicles and automotive brands. For example, the Cheetah is closely associated with the Ferrari Testarossa, while the Comet is inspired by the Porsche 911. But what can we expect in GTA VI? Which new models have we already seen, and which real-world automakers inspired Rockstar?

As in previous GTA titles, cars and other means of transportation will play a major role in the world of GTA VI.
Rockstar has stayed true to tradition, filling the virtual streets of GTA VI with a mix of American culture, muscle cars, exotic supercars, and practical pickup trucks.
One of the most eye-catching cars in the trailers is the retro-styled **Grotti Cheetah ’95**, which closely mirrors the design of the legendary 1990s **Ferrari Testarossa and 512 TR**. We also see more modern models inspired by Ferrari’s V12-powered grand tourers.

Another standout brand is Pegassi, which closely follows Lamborghini’s design language. Its Tempesta model, for example, is heavily inspired by the Lamborghini Huracán.
European sports and premium cars in the game are largely based on German automotive legends. For example, Pfister offers models such as the Comet S2 Cabrio, which draws heavily from Porsche’s design and character.
For fans of German cars, there is Übermacht, which follows BMW’s styling. Models such as the Cypher resemble BMW’s M-series with their sharp lines and sporty aggression. Fans of Mercedes-Benz’s powerful and fast AMG models can turn to Benefactor’s luxury-class vehicles.
Florida’s culture is impossible to imagine without oversized pickup trucks, and Rockstar reflects this perfectly in the game. On muddy roads and along the coast, the main off-road power comes from American-style trucks — such as the Declasse Yosemite, inspired by classic Chevrolet models, and Vapid pickups influenced by the massive Ford F-Series.
The game’s expanded map gives players even more opportunities to get around in supercars, pickup trucks, motorcycles, planes, and boats.
This also raises the question: Why doesn’t Rockstar Games use licensed, real-world cars? The answer is simple: real-world brands often place strict restrictions on showing their vehicles being destroyed or damaged - something that is central to GTA’s identity. In addition, negotiating individual licensing agreements with hundreds of brands would involve significant costs and legal complexity. Instead, Rockstar’s fictional brands, built around satire and parody, give the studio much greater creative freedom.
The official release of GTA VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S is scheduled for November 19, 2026.
