For people actively involved in the automotive business, as well as car enthusiasts in general, it is especially important to stay informed about changing industry trends, consumer demand, and market statistics. That is why we are presenting passenger car import data for the first quarter of this year.


Toyota ranked first by the number of imported vehicles, with 5,266 cars entering the country during the first quarter of 2026. The largest share came from popular models such as the Camry, Corolla, RAV4, and Prius.


Ford ranked second with 2,982 imported vehicles, while Mercedes-Benz came third with 2,229 units.


In addition to Toyota, Ford, and Mercedes-Benz, other highly popular brands included Honda (1,208 units), Kia (1,148 units), Mazda (1,132 units), and Lexus (1,036 units).


In 2025, Georgia imported $3.9 billion worth of automobiles. As in previous years, vehicles remained the country’s top imported commodity category, accounting for 20.9% of total imports - 0.3% higher than in 2024.


Among importing countries, the United States has maintained the leading position for nine consecutive years. In 2025 alone, Georgia imported approximately 184,427 passenger vehicles worth around $2.28 billion from the U.S.
