From October 1st to October 4th, 2024, port workers in the Eastern US and the Gulf of Mexico went on strike, completely halting shipping operations during this period. This disruption posed a significant challenge for logistics companies.
In response to the situation, and in order to continue the vehicle purchasing process from American auctions without interruption, we have implemented the following measures:
To support these adjustments, minimize risks, and maintain operations as smoothly as possible, transportation fees were temporarily increased. These fees were adjusted immediately after the strike and have since been restored to pre-strike levels.
Additionally, for cars purchased at the higher rate during the critical period (October 1–4, 2024), we have recalculated the costs and refunded the difference to all customers affected by the strike period.
We take our responsibility to manage processes effectively during crises seriously. Therefore, we are committed to minimizing the impact of such disruptions on our customers, ensuring that any interruptions affect them as little as possible.
On 2nd of November 2022, Caucasus Auto Import, within social responsibility, together with Gldani majority leader Konstantine Zarnadze and local residents, held another greening event.
We planted dozens of saplings of barren mulberry, field maple and large-leaved lime in the square in the 8th micro-district of Gldani. The average age of plants is 10 years and the height varies from 3 to 5 meters.
Protecting the environment and taking care of ecology is an important value for Caucasus Auto Import, and as a company with high social responsibility, we will participate in similar projects and campaigns in the future.
"Operation Smile" is a global non-governmental organization, which has been helping children with cleft lip and palate from middle- and low-income families since 1982. On 12th of October 2022, a charity event was held in Los Angeles, the United States of America, which was attended by the employees of our company's American branch.
We know importance of joining this charitable program, which requires global strength and partnership, the involvement of more companies. We are proud to support Operation Smile's dedication to children and families, which require safe operation and maintenance in more than 30 countries.
Cleft lip and palate can cause serious health problems for the child if it is not treated on time. Usually, children find it difficult to eat, which causes nutritional deficiency and hunger. It may cause ear infections, as well as develop hearing loss, interfere with the proper development of the jaw and teeth. People with clefts, especially cleft palates, may have speech impediments. In this situation, children often become victims of bullying and social isolation.
Many patients live with limited financial resources, so surgical intervention and care are not available to them.
The program provides cleft surgery and post-surgery care. Children are empowered to breathe, eat, speak better and live more confident lives.
Caucasus Auto Import is an international company with high social responsibility. We will definitely take part in this and other charity programs again, so that more children have the opportunity to live a fulfilling life.
